Week 18: Fancy Card Friday with Winter Woodland and Don Juan

Hello, everyone! This is Melanie and it is Fancy Card Friday! Are you guys sick of turkey or what? As you read this I am out with my mother facing the hoards of people trying to get a good deal on Christmas presents. Why do I do this every year? Oh well, the donuts are so fresh at 4 AM ;-)

The first card is an A2 sized card. The poinsetta is cut from the Winter Woodland cartridge at 2 1/2".

The stamp and ribbon is from Papertrey Ink.

I also embossed the coredinations paper with the candy cane striped cuttlebug embossing folder. Then sanded it to let the color core shine through!

Here is the sketch to make replication a snap:

The second card is a 5 "x 5" so you will need an 5 1/4" x 5 1/4" envelope.

The trees were cut from Winter Woodland at 3 1/2". 'Christmas' is from Don Juan(which we are giving away today...woohoo!) cut at 3/4".

Here is the sketch to make replication a snap:

Today's cartridge giveaway is the exclusive Don Juan cartridge! Just in time for Christmas! Leave a comment in this post for a chance to win!

WEEK18: Scrapbook Layout in a MINI ALBUM (Happy Thanksgiving!!)

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!! Have you had your turkey & dressing yet? Are you making your shopping list for tomorrow's Black Friday sales?! I have! Yes... I'm one of 'those'... I LOVE shopping on Black Friday!! It's a challenge, something that can be quite successful if planned right!

But, enough of that... let me share my PAPER DOLL layout with you!  It's actually a mini book in a suitcase!!

Here is the suitcase all closed up.  I purchased it at Hobby Lobby for only $3.50 because it was on sale for 50% off of $6.95.  Now I have to confess that this was not my original idea.  The credit goes to a very talented friend of mine, Misty, who I scrapbook with once a month.  She had bought similar suitcases at a yard sale and converted them to mini albums.

Here is the suitcase opened.  You can see that it folds out accordion style and the book is actually attached inside the suitcase.  The pages themselves are chipboard that I cut out by tracing the suitcase shape onto them.  I attached the chipboard pages with clear packaging tape (on both sides) BEFORE adding the patterned paper.

The papers and embellishments I used are all from a paper pack that I bought at (guess where?) Hobby Lobby.  The first page just has sticker words on it.

The sleigh below was cut from PAPER DOLLS DRESS UP cartridge and was cut at 4".

Ahhh... another one of Lizzie's Kids!  I just can't resist these little cuties that my mom made!

Here is the other side.  The first two white blocks are where my photos of this Christmas are going to go.

Another Lizzie's Kid cutie, those gingerbread men look good enough to eat!  For those of you who didn't see my HOME DECOR this week... Lizzie's Kids are made by my mom, Liz.  She is definitely a paperdoll queen!

The sentiment was a sticker in the pack, but the trees are cut from WINTER WOODLAND at 4".

Here is where I will put my journaling.  I like how it is 'bullet' style.

All tucked in and ready to close!  I was so inspired when I saw Misty's version of this suitcase mini album, I just had to make one of my own and share it with you!  Thank you so much Misty, for the idea!

Thanks for taking the time out from your holiday to visit us!!  And because you did... we would like to show our appreciation by giving away another cartridge!

Today's cartridge giveaway is the Christmas Cheer cartridge! Just in time for Christmas! Leave a comment in this post for a chance to win!
